Well, after 17 hours in a beautifully appointed "premium economy plus" cabin we have arrived in Thailand. We somewhat know how to say "thank you", but may be a little off, and we are well on our way to "hello."
The flight...
Sara had a horrible sore throat and fever through most of it, but thanks to our extremely well dressed Thai flight attendants, she was heavily medicated with unlabled drugs (3 pills total) that she took absolutely willingly with no questions asked!
Meanwhile, Peter self medicated with delicious Thai beers...for no apparent ailment!
Around the 11th hour (or 7am Los Angeles time) , a full bottle of champagne with giant strawberries arrived at our seats. The flight attendants wanted to wish us well on our honeymoon, so this seemed appropriate! We could only manage to power through 2 glasses, mostly because we had just finished 2 honeymoon champagnes from a different flight attendant an hour before!! Oh, we should add, more Thai unmarked drugs arrived, which Sara took, and finally broke the fever and some of the throat pain! yay!
Medicated, lubricated, and inebriated the 17 hour flight flew by! And here we are, waiting in the Bangkok airways lounge to catch our 12pm flight to Chiang Mai. here is a link to our hotel if you want to see where we will be! It is currently 8:51am here now and about 90 degrees F.
Sara is wearing the hoodie in spite of it all, because of heavy judgement at customs by the passengers from a flight from New Delhi!
We are having a blast, grateful for it all, and LOVE that we are getting "followers"!!! Send messages!!!!

ReplyDeleteI am so glad you have arrived in Thailand safely - there is a but here...please get antiobiotic for Sara's throat. Fever comes with infection & will return!! I don't want to have to come and bring medicine but I will!! Take care of my baby and then you guys have fun!!!
