We had an AMAZING day! We went to an organic farm where we learned to cook authentic Thai food!! We went to a local market, which is VERY different than any farmer's market we have ever seen!!! Apparently meat and fish do not have to be refrigerated! We had NO idea what most of the things were! And after, were taken back to Sammy's organic farm where he and his wife and little 3 year old girl live. Sammy and his wife, Apenia (spelling?) were just fantastic, they welcomed us into their home and lives with open arms! We cooked and ate all day, with a rest on a hammock by a pond in between courses! Such an experience and a beautiful place and people we will never forget!
All cooking was outdoors, under a thatched roof. The farm was full of fresh Thai herbs, spices, veggies, and fruit. And their neighbor has a huge rice paddy, so we got to pick rice!
What a wonderful day!!!
Tomorrow, to the elephants to fulfill Sara's lifelong dream!!!!!!
